We all have a high calling in life. 1 Peter 2:9-10 (MSG) – But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you- from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. We all have priestly work to do and what better way to tell others of God’s goodness than to start a blog.
Now starting a blog is not as complicated as it seems. It can all look overwhelming and intimidating but it doesn’t have to be. That is why I created this page to help you with your calling and to get your story out there.
Here is an easy way to start a blog:
The very first step is to go to BlueHost (click here)
Click on the green get started now button to select your plan and your free domain name.
To be honest (no pun intended) to start out all you need is the basic plan for now. You can always upgrade at a later time. The most important thing is picking your domain name, make sure you take your time. Your domain name will define you as a blogger and your niche. My website was inspired after my book “Honest Prayers from the Average Thirty-Something Woman”. My blog is a continuation of the book to inspire and help women find their purpose through honest prayers. Now since my blog is about prayers and helping women my blog is limited. So take that into consideration. Keep in mind what you want to share with your audience.
Getting your domain through BlueHost is fast and easy.
Next, you want to pick your package.
Once you name your website, go through the registration process then it is time to select your package. You get the best deal with the biggest savings if you sign up for 36 months. ( That means you are seriously committed to your call and sharing your story.) You don’t have to sign up for 36 months you can also choose 12 or 24 months (I understand about being on a budget). One thing I do recommend is opting for the Domain Privacy Protection option, it will protect your privacy.
The other options you really don’t need as a new blogger so you can uncheck those options:
