Who’s Your Daddy and What’s in Your Heart?

The word of God says you have a choice about who your daddy is. You can choose— Daddy God or the father of lies, the devil. Unless you repent and make Jesus the lord of your life, then we are children of the devil.

When you choose Jesus, the “name above all names,” you choose wisely and are marked for Daddy God’s kingdom.

Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God [which He has laid] stands [sure and unshaken despite attacks], bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord stand apart from wickedness and withdraw from wrongdoing.” 2 Timothy 2:19 AMP

When you make Jesus your Lord, you are no longer your own but were purchased at a high price (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

It is by faith in Jesus that God truly becomes Daddy and you have access to a direct relationship with Him. For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26, NLT) There is only one way to Daddy, and that is through Jesus. All who believe in Him have been given a right as a child of God.

That is how you rightly become daughters of a king. Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth and the life. NO one can come to the Father except through me. (John 14:6, NLT)

Your story started before the Earth’s foundation. God carried you in His heart and loved you so much that He planned your very existence. You are called to be a daughter and chosen to co-labor with Daddy’s kingdom’s purpose. And he chose you to be his very own, joining you to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe!

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.” Ephesians 1:4-6 NLT

Because of his great love, he ordained you, so that you would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence, through the blood of Jesus. it was always in his perfect plan to adopt you as his child, through your union with Jesus, the Anointed One.

“and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.” 2 Corinthians 1:22 NLT

You are now identified as a child of God, daughter of the king because He has placed His spirit within your heart. Since God has placed His Spirit in your heart, you must guard it!!

“Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you. 1 Timothy 6:20 NLT

The father of lies, Satan, is watching over you, waiting for any opportunity to deceive you, and destroy you. That is what he does kill, steal and destroy. He wants to become your Daddy.

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44, NLT)

To know the devil, you need to know how he works and schemes. The Bible tells us that he disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). That means he manipulates and twists reality and is a perverter of the truth. The Bible also says he will come to deceive even Daddy God’s chosen ones (Matthew 24:24).

As the word fills you, it will also teach you the enemy’s characteristics and attributes.

The enemy is full of pride; that is what got him kicked out of heaven (Ezekiel 28:16-17). He roams around like a roaring lion, watching and waiting to see who he will tear apart (1 Peter 5:8).

The enemy is a great deceiver; that is why the word tells us to put on our armor and stand against his works (Ephesians 6:11).

He works subtlety, not dramatically (2 Corinthians 11:3). So, the word tells us he is proud, arrogant, cruel, fierce, deceitful, and subtle. He is utterly evil in all his ways and pretends to be something that he isn’t. He is a liar!

God is greater, so don’t allow the lesser one lead you and get in your head or get in your heart. Satan wants to lead you and guide you in a direction that the Lord has not ordained for you.

God is the Father of truth, Father of miracles, Father of healing. He is Creator. And there is only one way to God, Jesus. Satan on the other hand is the father of lies, father of death and father of destruction. So who’s your daddy?

We need to examine ourselves and allow Daddy God into the deepest darkest places of our hearts. We need to choose to cast off things that hinder our high calling–things that keep us from our purpose.

God wants to heal the brokenness in your heart The things that are worrying you. The things burdening your heart. All these things are open doors to the enemy. He wants to restore you today. He wants you to be filled with faith, hope and love that abides. We need to constantly watch over our hearts and guard it with all diligence, as we protect our hearts from the fiery darts of the wicked one.

It is your responsibility to watch over your heart. You must guard the gates of our heart. Why? Because if the enemy is looking for any opportunity to defile your heart so he can defile your prayers and defile your life. What comes out of the mouth comes from what’s in your heart.

“And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.” Mark 7:20-23 NLT

Jeremiah said the hearts of men are evil they’re wicked–who can know them? (Jer. 17:9-10) Jesus said the good man brings good things out of the good treasure of his heart (see Matt. 12:35). Watch your heart. Jesus said the evil man brings forth evil things out of the evil treasure in his heart. Watch your heart. Deuteronomy 4:9 says, “Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life.” Watch your heart.

So I ask you today, Who’s your Daddy? And what’s in your heart?
