In Search of Rare Pearls

So many times, in our life we are in search of rare pearls, seeking the riches of this world, to make more money, to get ahead, that we are not pursing the things that really matter.

“Heaven’s kingdom realm is also like a jewel merchant in search of rare pearls. When he discovered one very precious and exquisite pearl, he immediately gave up all he had in exchange for it.

Matthew 13:45-46 (TPT)

Do we treasure heavens kingdom with a passion so strong that we are willing to give up all in exchange for it? Do we treasure the very presence of God as we would a precious and exquisite pearl? Do we long, yearn and eagerly wait for the day that Jesus will return for His bride?

We need to have a Kingdom mindset, set on eternal purposes not on worldly matters.

Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

Matthews 6:19-21 (NLT)

When reach our final destination, in eternal glory, the concerns of this world, such as bills, mortgages, taxes, will not be of any concerns. We will spend eternity praising and worshipping our Lord!

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Matthew 6:33-34 (NLT)

The definition of seek has four important meanings:

  1. To resort to; go to
  2. To go in search of; to look for
  3. To ask for
  4. To try to acquire or gain

As we seek our Father in search of His kingdom, we can ask for what we need. He provides the following three things:

  1. His Provision
  2. His Protection
  3. His Presence

Keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8 (NLT)

When He opens the door, we will receive exceedingly abundantly, more than we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

So, lets continue to seek His Kingdom and search for the glimpses of His glory, so we will experience heaven on earth. In a world full of evil, we must be in search of the rare pearls that will never diminish but knowing it will cost us everything.

So, treasure our Lord, more than your very life. Trust God with all your needs, pursue His righteousness, peace, and joy- the rare and exquisite pearls that will shine into eternity.
