Four Steps To Becoming A Prayer Warrior

You might be asking what is a prayer warrior? It is someone committed to praying, interceding and fighting spiritually for others. Did you know, God is urging you to be a prayer warrior? How do I know? The bible says so!

1 Timothy 2:1 (NLT) I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them.

I believe this urging isn’t just for “special people”, it is for the body of Christ. Dr. Dennis Burke said “I sense so strongly that God is lifting the Body of Christ to a new place where every member- not just leadership- is functioning, flowing, hearing and expecting the supernatural.

Imagine how that would change the world.” So, are you ready to be a world changer? I know I am! Over 10 years old I realized I had been called to be a prayer warrior. God would give me dreams about situations that were about to happen. At first, I didn’t understand why I would have these dreams, but God wanted me to intercede for what was about to happen.

There are things now that are about to happen. God is calling you. He is giving you dreams and visions and preparing you for battle. God wants you to stand up and use the authority that Jesus paid for. When you start using that authority you will see miraculous results and when you use your faith it activates Gods power.

Now the devil is going to want to battle to keep you from your purpose so you need to be prepared. How do we prepare ourselves for battle?

Ephesians 6:12-13 (NLT) – For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will be standing firm.

God wants you to use His weapons, stand strong and kick the devil’s butt. So, what can we do to become a prayer warrior?

2 Chronicles 8:14-15 (NLT) Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.

There are 4 steps from this scripture that can help you become the prayer warrior you are called to be.

  1. Humble yourselves- It’s not about you it’s about Jesus!
  2. Pray- it must be a priority
  3. Seek His face- meditate daily on His word
  4. Turn from your wicked ways

Father, thank you for taking me to a new place. A place where I stand strong and use the authority Jesus paid for. I claim Your supernatural, miraculous power at work right now. Remind me to be humble, pray continually and seek you always. Help me turn from my wicked ways and become the prayer warrior you called me to be.

Amen!

  1. I have made an effort over the last year to make sure I am praying for all the things I am thankful for – last year I prayed a lot for help from God and now that I have received that help, I am making sure to pray for all the goodness in life!
